The following documents detail a proposed design for the Kellyville Train Station redevelopment.
Precedent studies include the California Academy of Sciences, New York High Line and Stampalia Foundation in Venice. From each was taken the successful harmony of natural and artificial materials as well as user circulation methods.
The design has been informed by the form and function of a living cell. Just as the cell membrane contains all the organelles to power it, the station design facade contours to shape the service buildings and inner concourse. With a strong emphasis on public, community spaces, the station becomes more than a transportation link, but rather a hub of activity. As seen in the East side, which features a Lepidopterarium (butterfly house) to attract people to the area and create an identity for Kellyville as a destination.
